This Easy RD-Approved Breakfast To Help Support Skin Health
Skin health support has become a focus of mine ever since I turned 40. Seemingly overnight, my skin went from even, smooth, and radiant to, well, the opposite. Yes, we were in the thick of the COVID pandemic when I reached my 40th, which surely contributed to my stress (ps stress isn’t great for skin health). But even when the world got back to normal, my skin did not.
Because of this, I have been trying to include skin health-supporting ingredients and nutrients in my diet whenever I get the opportunity. And over the years (I am now days away from my 44th birthday), I have found that this simple act has made a difference in my skin health.
Along with the nuts and seeds that I include in my diet to help keep my skin in tip-top shape, there is a new protein powder that is becoming a regular addition to my skin health-supporting diet — Ella Matcha Latte Daily Beauty Protein Powder.
Ella Matcha Latte For Skin Health
What makes Ella Matcha Latte Daily Protein Powder so special, you ask? This protein powder is chock-full of ingredients that help keep skin healthy, supple, smooth, and even naturally:
Hydrolyzed Bovine Collagen Peptides
Collagen peptides play a crucial role in maintaining skin health, and promoting elasticity, and hydration. Their consistent use may significantly reduce wrinkles and improve skin texture.
Organic Pumpkin Seed Protein
Pumpkin seed protein is packed with zinc and selenium, two minerals that are essential for maintaining healthy skin. Zinc helps to control oil production and may reduce acne, while selenium protects the skin from environmental damage and inflammation.
Organic Chia Seed Protein
Chia seed protein is also highly beneficial for skin health, thanks to its rich omega-3 fatty acid content. Omega-3s are known to enhance the skin's barrier function, helping to retain moisture and protect against irritants that can lead to skin issues. Additionally, chia seeds are a great source of antioxidants, which fight free radical damage and can help reduce signs of aging.
Organic Matcha Green Tea
Matcha green tea is renowned for its skin health benefits, primarily due to its high concentration of catechins, a type of antioxidant. These antioxidants help to combat inflammation and reduce redness, promoting an even skin tone. The presence of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) in matcha is especially beneficial; it's known for its anti-aging properties by encouraging cell regeneration and repairing damaged skin.
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic Acid is another powerhouse ingredient for skin health, particularly for its unparalleled ability to retain moisture. Found naturally in the body, incorporating hyaluronic acid through diet may enhance skin hydration from the inside out. This is crucial because well-hydrated skin appears plumper, smoother, and more radiant, effectively diminishing fine lines and wrinkles.
Plus, it provides skin health-supporting nutrients too:
Zinc
Acts as an anti-inflammatory agent, helping to reduce acne flare-ups and protect the skin against UV damage. Zinc is crucial for skin healing and maintains the integrity of skin cells. Aid collagen formation and keratin creation. One serving of this powder provides 50% DV of zinc.
Biotin
Biotin is key for maintaining a healthy skin foundation. It assists in the production of new cells and helps in oil production, which can prevent dry skin. One serving of this protein powder provides 100% DV biotin.
Vitamin C
A powerful antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals, Vitamin C aids in the skin's natural regeneration process and helps repair damaged skin cells. It is also essential for the production of collagen, vital for skin elasticity. One serving provides 100% DV vitamin C.
Protein
Essential for the repair and construction of skin tissue. Collagen and elastin, two types of proteins, play a significant role in preventing skin sagging and maintaining skin firmness. One serving provides 20 grams of protein.
My Protein-Packed Breakfast For Skin Health Support – Ella Matcha Latte Overnight Oats
Including a protein powder in my diet like Ella Matcha Latte Daily Beauty Protein Powder is simple to do if you are a fan of smoothies (just add two scoops to your concoction) or powders that are blended with water (combine two scoops with 8-12 ounces of cold water). But if you want something with some more staying-power, my overnight oats recipe will fit the bill.
These oats are packed with antioxidants, thanks to the chia seeds, walnuts, and oats. The healthy fats from the walnuts also help support skin health naturally. And of course, the Ella Matcha Latte Daily Beauty Protein Powder gives this breakfast some serious protein, more antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and so much more.
